BRIAN DOWNEY'S ALIVE AND DANGEROUS  (IRL)

Monday July 8

Thin Lizzy is one of Ireland's most legendary bands and frontman Phil Lynott is undoubtedly one of the most influential bassists in rock history. Many musicians came and went during Phil's lifetime, but he always had drummer Brian Downey by his side. Brian Downey was also part of some later editions of the band and it is Downey who is Time To Rock's protagonist when he visits us with his Alive and Dangerous. As Brian was on all 12 of Thin Lizzy's studio albums, he was of course also on the band's well-known and iconic live album "Live and Dangerous" (1978) and it is that title that has inspired the bands name. In addition to Brian Downey, singer and bassist Matt Wilson and guitarists Michal Kulbaka and Joe Merriman are also included. If you sneak a peek at the band's set list, you will see that it is all Thin Lizzy songs that are played when the group is on stage, so it will be Christmas Eve in Knislinge for all Lizzy fans. Expect to hear hits like "Jailbreak", "The Boys are Back in Town" and the traditional Irish "Whiskey in the Jar", also known as "Whiskey ve´ järet" here in Göinge. Thin Lizzy songs in 2024 won't sound better than this, we can promise that!
