DORO  (D)

Sunday July 7

Doro started her musical career back home in Germany in smaller bands like Snakebite and Beast before she started singing in Warlock. Warlock released four records in the 80s, from "Burning the Witches" (1984) to "Triumph and Agony" (1989). With the latter, Warlock also got playing time on MTV, mainly with their great anthem "All We Are". But the hits are many from this time and Doro still plays them. We can count on songs like "Earthshaker Rock", "Metal Tango" and "Hellbound" when she and her band now visit the Time To Rock Festival. On "Triumph and Agony" we find the current Alice Cooper guitarist, the American Tommy Henriksen, on bass and when the planned fifth Warlock album, "Force Majeure" (1989) was recorded, Doro Pesch was completely surrounded by American musicians. Due to rights disputes over the band name, the group has from then on carried the singer's first name. During the 90s, a whole bunch of records were released that, due to the prevailing music climate, did not reach as far as they should have. Because even during this period we find canon songs, such as "Bad Blood", "Unholy Love" and "Love Me In Black". The millennium started strong with "Calling the Wild" (2000) and since then Doro has been very productive with studio records, live performances, live records and DVDs every other. Now she is current with her new album "Conquress Forever Strong and Proud" which is highly recommended. For 40 years, Doro has worked to cement herself as Germany's, and probably the world's, hard rock queen No. 1, and this summer, as I said, she's coming to the Time To Rock Festival. It is big. Really REALLY big.
