Y&T from Oakland began their career under the name Yesterday and Today. The starting year is set to 1974, but the first, self-titled, record did not come until 1976. There have been two short breaks during the 90s, otherwise the group has kept going since the start. Today, only the permanent band leader, Dave Meniketti (vocals/guitar), is left from the original line-up and there will be no change to that as the remaining three have left earthly life. Those of us who like melodic hard rock and heavy metal can be extremely grateful that Dave has the sense to keep the legacy alive. Today the band is completed by John Nymann (guitar), Aaron Leigh (bass) and Mike Vanderhule (drums). The latest album "Facemelter" came out in 2010 and features all the current members except Aaron who joined in 2016. Over the past 20 years, Y&T has visited Sweden a number of times. From visiting Sweden Rock both in 2003 and 2004 until the 45-year tour in 2019, they were in our country every year except 2005, 2006 and 2018, both on club tours and at festivals. That says something about the popularity and we know that there are many of you, our visitors, who have missed the band in the last five years, so we are proud and happy to be able to welcome Y&T to Knislinge. It will also be the only gig in Scandinavia this summer. Don't miss the chance to see this amazing band again (or for the last time). Classic, melodic hard rock doesn't get any better than this!
