Michael Schenker Group (GER)

To present MSG is synonymous by presenting legendary guitar wiz Michael Schenker, born in Sarstedt, West Germany back in 1955. As a 14-year-old kid he did his first studio job on "Lonesome Crow" (1972) with his big brothers band, Scorpions. Michael then quit Scorpions in 1973 and was replaced by another legendary guitar hero, Uli Jon Roth. When Uli left in 1978, Michael had a short comeback in Scorpions, doing some of the solo guitars on the album "Lovedrive" (1979). In between, he was a member of British band UFO where he created rock history by writing, now immortal, rock classics as "Doctor Doctor" and "Only You Can Rock Me) among many others. UFO is a band that Schenker been in and out of during the following years.

Schenker started Michael Schenker Group in 1979 and the following year saw the release of the self-titled first album that included classics like "Armed and Ready" and "Cry for Nations".
In 1981 came the second album called "MSG" that nowadays is what people call the band. Between 1987-1992 MSG suddenly meant McAuley Schenker Group as Robin McAuley was the singer at that period and Schenker lent the M in MSG to McAuley. During this time the blueprint of how a rock ballad should sound, "When I'm Gone", was written and released.

With over 50! different musicians, in studio and live, among them some really heavy names in rock, it's a no-brainer to say that MSG is synonymous with Michael Schenker.

The band these days includes two returnees from the McAuley Schenker era, Steve Mann (Keyboard and guitar) and Bodo Shopf (Drums). Last year also saw two newcomers in Barend Courbois (bass) and Ronnie Romero (vocals). The last is also known for singing in the last reincarnation of Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow.

Live you can expect tons of MSG songs as well as some classic UFO tracks!. Awesome!
