It's never fun when a band cancels. It's even worse when a band cancels so close to the festival. We also know that many people were looking forward to seeing Foghat this summer. Finding a "perfect" replacement at such short notice is not easy, but we think we've succeeded really well, as we can present the legendary WISHBONE ASH. The band that once taught Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest what "twin guitars" were. The band will then take over Foghat's playing time, Monday, July 6th at 4:15 PM on the Rock Kommander Stage. A big thank you to Wishbone Ash who made this a reality.
Below you can see the explanation we received from Foghat. So, as you can see, there was nothing we could do about this. They have had the conditions since last autumn:
"We are deeply disappointed to announce that we must cancel our July 6 appearance at the Time to Rock Festival in Sweden.
Sweden has always been one of our favorite places to play, and we were truly looking forward to returning. Unfortunately, the current cost of international travel for our band and crew has made the trip impossible at this time.
We sincerely thank the festival organizers and everyone who worked so hard to bring us back. Most of all, we thank our Swedish fans for their understanding and support. We hope to see you again very soon."
WISHBONE ASH (UK)
Few bands have left such a lasting mark on classic rock as Wishbone Ash. Formed in England in 1969, the band became pioneers of the twin-lead guitar sound that would later inspire legendary acts such as Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and many others. Their unique blend of rock, folk, blues, and progressive influences has earned them a devoted following across generations.
With classic albums such as Argus, widely regarded as one of the greatest rock albums of the 1970s, and timeless songs including "Blowin' Free," "The King Will Come," "Warrior," and "Phoenix," Wishbone Ash helped define an era while continuing to evolve their sound over more than five decades.
Led by founding guitarist and vocalist Andy Powell, the band remains a powerful live act, celebrated for outstanding musicianship, memorable melodies, and the unmistakable harmony of their twin guitars. Even after more than 50 years on the road, Wishbone Ash continues to captivate audiences worldwide with performances that combine classic favorites with material from their later releases.
Now, Time To Rock Festival is proud to welcome these true rock pioneers to Sweden. Prepare for an unforgettable journey through some of the finest guitar-driven music ever recorded as Wishbone Ash brings its rich musical heritage and timeless energy to the festival stage.
Please give a warm welcome to Wishbone Ash!
