Saxon (UK)

Some bands age like a good Chateau, and that goes without saying for 45 year old SAXON. The band was founded by old Coast members Biff Byford (vocals) and Paul Quinn (guitar) and became one of the biggest and most important metal bands from the UK in the 80s. Nowadays the band also consists of Nigel Glockler (drums), Nibbs Carter (bass) and Doug Scarratt (guitar). Saxon released their eponymous debut in 1979 followed by their three most iconic albums "Wheels of Steel" (1980), "Strong Arm of the Law" (1980) and "Denim and Leather" (1981). With the alive album "The Eagle Has Landed" (1982) their signed their name in the history books forever.  The live album has the same status as "Live after Death" by Iron Maiden and "No Sleep 'til Hammersmith" by Motörhead and songs from that album is still the base on festival gigs today. Epic. But Saxon has released a lot of high class albums throughout their whole career and their latest are the cover album "Inspirations" (2021) and "Carpe Diem" (2022). Carpe Diem means "Seize the day". So carpe diem at Time To Rock this summer!
