When Magnum guitarist and songwriter Tony Clarkin passed away in January 2024, it also meant the end of this legendary, British band. Singer Bob Catley felt that he did not want to continue without his partner in crime by his side. When the worst of the grief subsided and the questions from fans started to pour in, the band decided to do a small number of tribute shows for Tony Clarkin in England. To once take the stage and play a selection of all the classic songs, writen by Tony Clarkin, to sold-out houses. As the band felt that the magic was still there and the interest was greater than ever, Magnum decided to expand their shows to also include a few festival shows in 2026. When Tony Clarkin's daughter, Dionne, went through her father's material, she found a lot of recordings with unreleased material, which will now become a new Magnum album. Most people probably know that Sweden and Magnum always had a real love story, and now that the band has decided to play their only gig with us at the Time To Rock Festival, we feel both happy and proud to present this fantastic band that has a treasure trove of songs like almost no other band.
Anyone who grew up with hard rock, will of course know songs like "Soldier of the Line", "The Spirit", "On a Storytellers Night", "How Far Jerusalem", "Les Morts Dansant", "Vigilante", "Kingdom of Madness", "Need a Lot of Love", "Just Like an Arrow", yes the list can be as long as you want. So we hope that you will all come to us in Knislinge this summer to once again see this eminent band and at the same time pay tribute to one of the best songwriters in rock history, a fantastic guitarist and a fantastic person; Mr Tony Clarkin. So from us as a festival and the band: Welcome to Knislinge Rock City!
