Three classic punk acts confirmed

DISCHARGE (UK)

Discharge are an English hardcore punk band formed in 1977 in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. The band is known for influencing several sub-genres of extreme music and their songs have been covered by some of the biggest names in heavy metal and other genres. The musical sub-genre of D-beat is named after Discharge and the band's distinctive drumbeat. The band is characterized by a minimalistic approach to music and lyrics, using a heavy, distorted and grinding guitar-driven sound and raw, shouted vocals similar to a political speech, with lyrics on anarchist and pacifist themes, over intense drone-like rhythms. The band's sound has been called a "grave-black aural acid assault.Discharge paved the way for an astounding array of politically motivated, musically intense and deeply confrontational bands". Discharge was "explicitly political" and displayed a "revolutionary/activist" attitude that moved British hardcore punk away from its pub rock origins and towards a "dangerous and provocative" or anti-establishment leftist territory. Discharge paved the way for various extreme metal styles such as thrash metal, black metal, crust punk and grindcore. The band's "brutal, extremist approach" and "extreme thrash noise" style of playing eventually led to the thrash genre. Discharge's influence on heavy metal is incalculable and metal superstars such as Metallica, Anthrax, Machine Head, Sepultura, Soulfly, Prong and Arch Enemy have covered Discharge's songs in tribute. Discharge was a major influence on at least two generations of metal. Now they come to Time To Rock in Knislinge!

HANDSOME DICK MANITOBA (US)

Time for another legend on the stage in Knislinge. Richard Blum, known by his stage name Handsome Dick Manitoba, is an American punk rock musician and radio personality. He was the singer of New York City-based band The Dictators from 1974 to 2008. With The Dictators, Manitoba sang on the albums The Dictators Go Girl Crazy! (1975), Manifest Destiny (1977), Bloodbrothers (1978) and D.F.F.D. (2005). Manitoba also sang with a reunited version of MC5 from 2005 to 2012. Besides The Dictators, we can recommend you to listen to the album "...and you" with Manitoba's Wild Kingdom from 1990. Now, when he comes to us at Time To Rock, you can be sure that he will play many songs from his time with The Dictators.

999 (UK)

The punk band 999 was formed in London, December 1976 and took their name after the British emergency phone number. A veteran act on the London punk scene, 999 have outlived most of their peers among the bands that rose to fame during punk's first major splash in 1977. 999 didn't often employ the speedy tempos that many bands used as their trademark; instead, they played tough, straightforward rock, while the disciplined shout of lead singer Nick Cash, an effective instrument for their confrontational lyrics, gave their music a rebellious edge that pushed the songs forward. Their second album, 1978's "Separates", showed off their stripped-down original sound and 1980's "The Biggest Prize in Sports" traded a bit of their punk snarl for catchier melodies and a more anthemic rock n roll sound. After breaking up for several years, 999 returned in the 1990's and their reunion albums "You Us It!" (1993) and "Takeover" (1998) demonstrated that their take on punk rock stood the test of time. If you should listen to two really great songs from the band, we recommend "Homicide" and "Inside Out". When they now come to Time To Rock it is still with founding members Nick Cash (lead vocals, guitar) and Guy Days (guitar, vocal) up front.

Easy Action to Time To Rock Easy Action was formed in 1981 and with the help of their image and artist name, the band became so much LA that the record company guys most likely didn't even realize that it was a Swedish band. For album number two, "That Makes One" (1986), the group had focused more on melodic rock and also managed to recruit Tommy Nilsson , the best Swedish rock voice of the 80s alongside Joey Tempest, as a singer. The album was well received and songs such as "Talk of the Town", "Teachers Do It With Class" and "Rosie" still hold up well today....

Half ticket price for youth 2026 News for Time To Rock 2026 - half price for youth between 13-18 We have previously had free admission for children between 3-13 years. We will of course continue with this. But for the 2026 festival, we will also release a youth ticket for all those who have turned 13, but not turned 18. We obviously want to help do our bit, so that the resurgence of "rockers" will be better and we know that it can be expensive for a family to, for example, pay full price for their teenage children. The prices of artists and stages, lights, sound etc...

Thank you! We really want to thank you, our wonderful audience, the artists and our awesome staff, for another fantastic year. Sold out camping and we also broke the audience record once again. Add to that a fantastic atmosphere that all of you who were here helped create over four days of rock n roll. We are really humbled, happy and proud of the fact that our little festival has managed to grow, just enough, so that we can still offer the convivial feeling that we know you all value highly. We certainly hope that those of you who have been here have...
